Doug Martin Traded to Browns

Late last night the Cleveland Browns trade with the Denver Broncos for RB Doug Martin was finalized. Cleveland sent WR Wes Welker and RB Pierre Thomas to the Broncos for Martin and WR Andre Caldwell. The following statement was released by Browns GM Brad Russell.

"Doug Martin is somebody we really liked going into the season and we have faith that he will return to form now that he's back healthy. We were without Wes to start the season, so to us it's just like upgrading at the running back position without losing anything. I would like to wish Wes and Pierre the best of luck in Denver."

Martin was injured in Week 1 and is slated to see his first action since the injury this week against the Patriots. For the Broncos, Welker will be out with a bye week this week, but Thomas will start his first game against the Bills.
